YOUR Academy has teamed up with CIMSPA to offer fully approved fitness qualifications to organisations and individuals across the UK via CIMSPA’s new Training Academy.
CIMSPA, the professional development body for the UK’s sport and physical activity sector, set up their Training Academy to ensure only trusted and reputable training providers are promoted to CIMSPA partners and individuals.
After already gaining CIMSPA’s highest level of status, their 3-star ‘enhancing’ status, joining the Training Academy was YOUR Academy’s logical next step. This means we are trusted to provide quality education and an excellent learner journey to not only help individuals qualify as gym instructors and personal trainers, but also to ensure they feel confident and competent about starting work in the health and fitness sector.
YOUR Academy really sets itself apart by offering the following support to both organisations and individuals throughout the learning experience:
Access to our bespoke online learning portal that offers video presentations, YouTube links, downloads, assessment discussions and MOCK papers.
Weekly online digital support, to keep individuals motivated, on-track and supported.
Quality learning materials – we don’t just rely on our online learning portal, we also offer learners our awarding body’s manuals to support learning.
We only recruit experienced personal trainers within our tutor/assessor team – we want to give learners as much real-life examples of what it takes to be a successful fitness professional during their qualification to ensure they can hit the ground running once qualified themselves.
A non-negotiable for YOUR Academy is its commitment to supporting learners in the gym through our immersive face-to-face practical workshops. We believe that gaining vital experience in coaching others in a gym environment is key to building confidence and competence to do this in the real world.
For organisations such as leisure centres, gyms and sports clubs, bespoke education pathways can be created to cater for individual business needs. For example, YOUR Academy has previously worked with local leisure centres to help multi-skill existing staff. For example, training current lifeguards and receptionists to gain qualifications in gym instructing to help cover the gym floor when needed. We have also worked with professional sports clubs, helping academy players to gain their gym instructor and personal training qualifications to ensure they have a plan B if professional sport does not take off for them.
For individual learners, we offer either a structured form of learning over a 21-week time period, with an expectation of completing 10-15 hours of home learning per week, or a more flexible route where the course timetable can be adapted to suit individual commitments.
YOUR Academy runs fitness education courses throughout the UK via links with YOUR Personal Training, which recruits, develops and supports personal trainers in over 400 gyms across the UK. We can also deliver courses in-house when partnering with gyms, leisure centres and sports teams, to ensure local talent can gain their qualifications in the facilities they will then go on to work for once qualified.
