Our pre and post-natal qualification is designed to expand the fitness professional’s scope of practice by enabling them to understand the theoretical and real life application of offering exercise and nutrition advice to females both during pregnancy as well as post-birth.
Entry requirements
You must hold one of the following, or equivalent qualifications, prior to registering for this course (evidence will be required):
Level 2 Certificate in Gym Instructing
Level 2 Certificate in Group Training
Level 3 Diploma in Personal Training
Level 3 Diploma in Instructing Pilates Matwork
Level 3 Diploma in Teaching Yoga

What you will learn:
Understand the benefits and barrier/concerns of physical activity for pre and postnatal clients
Know the physiological and biomechanical changes that take place during pregnancy, and post-pregnancy
Understand how to collect information to ensure health and safety when working with pre and postnatal clients
Be able to design and individualise, safe and effective exercise programmes for both pre and postnatal individuals
Be able to identify and manage specific risks to the pre or postnatal client when participating in physical activity
